Our Story
Sakhithemba Youth Development is a community-based non-profit organization committed to empowering young people between the ages of 15 - 24, who are not in employment, education, or training (NEET). Based in Khayelitsha, we create safe, supportive spaces where youth can grow, lead, and become agents of sustainable change in their communities.
Founded by passionate community member, Sakhithemba was born out of a desire to respond to the growing youth unemployment crisis, the rise in substance abuse, and the sense of hopelessness among young people in Khayelitsha. Today, we work to turn that hopelessness into opportunity, through people, partnerships, and purpose.
